Aircraft maintenance is the service, repair, assessment or modification of an aircraft or aircraft parts. Maintenance could include tasks such as ensuring conformity with airworthiness instructions or service statements.
The upkeep of an aircraft is exceedingly regulated, with the purpose of ensuring safe and precise operating during a flight. National guidelines are synchronised under international principles, maintained by organisations such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). An aircraft maintenance technician typically works in the commercial and public service divisions, executing an array of procedures in aircraft products.
