Year 1: During this year you will complete the theoretical side of your apprenticeship as well as some of the practical skills required. This section stretches over 36 weeks and covers all the modules necessary to prepare you for year two and three

Year 2-3:  Throughout this period you will do specific tasks on aircraft and systems – on the job training (OJT)

Here you will work on real aircraft gaining real experience under supervision of a qualified AME

Trade test:  Once the three years is completed, you will be required to write your trade test. After successfully completing your trade test you can apply for a job as an aircraft maintenance technician

Year 4-5:  You now need a further two years’ experience before you can apply for a licence as a fully qualified AME. This will allow you to sign aircraft out after servicing.
